The Quesnel and District Chamber of Commerce wants businesses in this area to share how the forestry crisis is affecting them to help the Chamber advocate on their behalf.
The local Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the B.C. Chamber of Commerce on a new survey about the impact the downturn in forestry is having on various communities across the province.
It only takes about five minutes to complete B.C.’s Forestry and Community Impact Survey at https://www.bcmindreader.com/c/r/forestry-survey-2020-chambers, and results will be used to advocate on local businesses’ behalf by providing deep, quantitative insight into the economic impacts the shift in the industry is having on families, communities and economies in B.C., according to the B.C. Chamber of Commerce, which notes the data and insight collected through the survey will help the Chamber make well-positioned, data-driven recommendations to government.
“The forestry sector in B.C. is in crisis, but where there is crisis, there is opportunity,” states the B.C. Chamber of Commerce. “By working together, we can bring about the critical solutions and opportunities needed by the people all across B.C. who depend on B.C.’s forestry sector for their livelihood.”
Business owners and staff in the region are encouraged to take the survey and share it with their colleagues.
Quesnel and District Chamber of Commerce manager Kathy Somerville was part of the Forestry Economic Impacts Task Force that helped draft this survey, along with representatives from Houston, Chetwynd, Port McNeill and Port Hardy.
