The College of New Caledonia (CNC) will be closed on June 29 due to what officials are calling a “cooling issue.”
All in-person classes will be cancelled, and most employees will not be asked to come in.

“Facilities staff members are working hard to resolve the problem,” said Tim Lofstrom, Regional Principal of CNC’s Quesnel campus. “We’ll provide an update in the afternoon on Tuesday, June 29th or sooner as we know more.”
Temperatures in Quesnel soared over 40°C on June 28, after setting heat records over the weekend. The Quesnel School District also cancelled classes due to excessive heat on June 28.
