  • Oct. 2, 2020 12:00 a.m.

No one was injured after a white pickup truck burst into flames at the Maple Drive exit from the Quesnel Walmart to Highway 97.

The fire was reported just before 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2.

The Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department responded and quickly controlled the fire, which had completely destroyed the engine and cab of the truck.

Police were able to keep traffic flowing along Highway 97 despite the fire, and pedestrians strolled by as the truck was burning.

The area around Walmart has had two car fires in the past two months.

For more photos of the extinguish, check out the upcoming Oct. 7 edition of the Observer.
