Quesnel School District announces principal, vice-principal appointments

Joelle Withey has been appointed to the position of vice-principal at QJSS

School District 28 announced a pair of principal appointments Thursday at Quesnel Junior Secondary School and at Kersley Elementary School.

Joelle Withey has been appointed to the position of vice-principal at QJSS.

Withey, who holds a masters of education in counselling, has served as the principal of Kersley Elementary School since 2018 and previous to that worked within the Prince George School District as a vice-principal as well as in a number of teaching capacities.

Withey will be replacing Trish Simpson, who was appointed principal of QJSS.

At Kersley Elementary School, Nancy Danuser has been appointed to the position of principal.

Danuser, who holds a masters of education in special education degree, has served as the vice-principal of Lakeview Elementary School since 2019 and previously worked within the Stikene School District as principal, vice-principal and a teacher.

Danuser also worked as a teacher in the Coast Mountains School District and overseas in Japan.

Danuser will be replacing Withey, who has been appointed vice-principal at QJSS.
