An eight-year-old boy from Maple Ridge is selling ice tea to raise money for fire victims in the Interior.

On Thursday, Hayden Driscoll spent a few hours at his stand in the 22000 block of 122nd Street, across from Maple Ridge Secondary. His proud mother Samantha Driscoll said he raised about $40 for the Fire Relief Fund, to help those who are being evacuated due to forest fires in the Interior of B.C.

Last year Hayden, who is going into Grade 3 this year, raised about $200 in the same way, which he donated to the Red Cross.

He plans to be back at the stand on Sunday.
