A 37-year-old man was arrested in Williams Lake by RCMP officers at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, March, 15, during an attempted break in.
“The suspect was arrested without incident while attempting to break into a business on Donald Road,” the RCMP said Wednesday, noting the suspect is currently in custody pending this offence and others that are currently under investigation.
The suspect is known to police and is from the Alexis Creek area, the RCMP noted.
“It is is apparent this arrest will lead to the reduction of break and enter offences occurring at local businesses,” said Insp. Jeff Pelley. “Officers are still in the process of determining if this suspect is linked to other break and enter offences that have been occurring.”
Charges of attempted break and enter with intent, possession of break and enter instruments and possession of a weapon contrary to a court order are being recommended to Williams Lake Crown Counsel, the RCMP said.
