RCMP confirm foul play in suspicious death

Police have identified a person of interest who is currently in custody on unrelated matters.

RCMP are confirming foul play in the suspicious death of a woman two weeks ago in the2300 block of 3rd St North in Cranbrook.

Cranbrook RCMP, along with Major Crimes Units from the Province, have been working tirelessly in their efforts to determine what happened on the night of March 29th that led to the death of a 73-year-old Cranbrook resident.

RCMP believe that the victim met with foul play but are unable to provide any more information at this time.

“Cranbrook RCMP would like to ensure the public that they are not at risk,” said Cst. Katie Forgeron. “Through diligent work, investigators have identified a person of interest, who is presently in custody on unrelated matters.  The investigation is ongoing.”
