The Comox Valley RCMP are working on over 20 reported business break-and-enters.

The Comox Valley RCMP are working on over 20 reported business break-and-enters.

These have all occurred since May and are primarily in the downtown Comox area.

The general duty members along with the forensic identification section, plainclothes members and the canine section, have been working to solve these crimes.

“We live in a safe community and need to apprehend the person responsible to prevent further loss to the hard-working people of our town. All available resources are being used at this already-busy time of year. We are also looking for possible witnesses,” says S/Sgt. Roger Plamondon of the Comox Valley RCMP.

Most businesses were not guarded with alarms and had glass broken to gain entry. Cash registers, tip jars, and cash boxes are primarily what has been stolen.

Business owners wishing additional crime-prevention techniques are asked to contact Const. Nicole Hall at 250-338-1321.

Anyone with possible information on these crimes is being asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
