RCMP make arrests, seize cocaine

Police execute high-risk takedown at Jimsmith Lake road near Cranbrook.

The Cranbrook/ Kimberley Crime Reduction Unit with help from Creston General Investigation Section, continues to make strides in keeping drugs off the streets of Cranbrook and Kimberley.

On March 3rd 2016 at around 1030PM the Crime Reduction Unit, along with Police Dog Service and General Duty police officers conducted a stop of a vehicle travelling on the highway from Creston BC.

The car was stopped at Jimsmith Lake Road, and as a result of information received, a high risk take down of the vehicle was conducted.

A 33 year old Cranbrook woman was driving the vehicle and was arrested.  A 23 year old man was located in the trunk of the vehicle.

At search of the vehicle located a substantial amount of cocaine.  Cranbrook RCMP are requesting charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking against both occupants of the vehicle.
