On March 21, at 2:49 p.m., the Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of an alleged robbery that had just occurred at the Scotiabank located at 3275 Lakeshore Rd.
A lone male suspect had entered the financial institution and stood in line for a teller. The suspect approached a wicket and produced a hand-written robbery note. The suspect did not produce any weapons but mentioned that he had a gun.
The suspect allegedly fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
An area of containment was set up while a police service dog conducted a search.
After reviewing the bank’s video surveillance footage, the RCMP have positively identified their alleged robbery suspect as Michael Joseph Craswell, of no fixed address in Kelowna.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Craswell. He has a history of violence and should be considered dangerous. Do not approach Craswell; call the Kelowna RCMP or 911 immediately if you spot him.
