A man with “homicidal command hallucinations” escaped from a mental health facility in Trail, but has since been apprehended.

Alexis Grenier escaped from the Daly Pavilion Mental Health Facility on the evening of June 6, Trail RCMP said in a statement Sunday.

Later on Sunday night, Trail RCMP phoned Global News to say he was found in Nelson and taken into custody peacefully.

Grenier, 18, was described as delusional and “highly energetic and hyper-sexual in his current mental state.”

The RCMP further described him as “being ‘handsome’ and looks somewhat similar to Justin Bieber”.

They also said he had no fixed address and was known to hitchhike through the Kootenays, adding that he posed “a serious risk to himself and the public.”

It is not yet known how Grenier originally escaped.
