Nov. 22 at just before one in the morning, a male called to report an assault by another male took place at his residence on Lakeshore Drive.
The complainant reported the suspect was in his residence when he woke up, reportedly let in by a roommate.
The suspect then tried to punch the complainant and then trapped the complainant in a headlock.
The roommate witnessed the altercation and told the suspect to leave.
The suspect reportedly was under the mistaken belief the complainant had broken his window.
While the suspect was not immediately located, police did discover he was on probation with conditions, however, the complainant did not want to proceed with charges and so the investigation was ended.
On Nov. 23 at 1:40 a.m., RCMP were conducting a check stop at the corner of Stone’s Bay Road and Stuart Drive.
A black Chevrolet Tahoe was pulled over and the driver reportedly exhibited signs of intoxication.
A roadside screening device resulted in a fail reading.
The driver was given a 90-day roadside prohibition from driving and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
The driver was a Fort St. James resident.
On Nov. 23 at 4:41 a.m., RCMP were called to a report of a domestic assault at the Hillcrest Apartments.
A male was located in the hallway of the building with a black eye and a cut lip and reportedly highly intoxicated.
The male was arrested.
Upon investigation, the female victim said the male had kicked her in the throat and she retaliated, resulting in the black eye and split lip.
The male was then released on conditions and a promise to appear in court.
Also on Nov. 23 at 5:59 a.m., RCMP were dispatched to a fight at a residence on Knots Landing.
Two males were then found sitting in the living room of the residence passed out when police arrived.
The men were reportedly surrounded by empty beer cans.
Investigation led to the understanding the two men fighting were an uncle and a nephew and the fight was consensual and no further police action was taken.
Later on Nov. 23 at 7:21 p.m., a report came in a house on the lease properties at Binche had been broken into.
Complainant reported damage to a screen door and a side exterior door was forced open.
A jacket was stolen, and later recovered in another residence.
RCMP said they have no suspects but the case is still under investigation. Anyone with information please contact the Fort St. James RCMP or Crimstoppers.
Nov. 24 at 9:19 p.m. police attended a residence on Stuart Drive to where they believed a suspect related to a series of break and enters may be present.
The male was reportedly “grossly intoxicated” according to police, and in the presence of a number of intoxicated persons.
The suspect was arrested based on the information the police had obtained.
Further investigation led to the recovery of a wallet and yellow bag stolen from properties on Binche.
The suspect was also on conditions to abstain from alcohol.
He has since been remanded into custody and will appear in court.
Nov. 25 at 1:49 a.m., RCMP received a 9-1-1 call from a residence on Lower Road on the Nak’azdli Reserve.
There was no voice on the phone, only breathing and then a man’s voice asking where the phone was.
Police attended and found a female caller had reportedly been assaulted by her common law partner.
The man was arrested and released on a promise to appear and undertaking.
Nov. 26 at 8:14 p.m. a male reported another male in his residence was trying to stab and fight with other people.
The suspect then left the house.
The complainant reported the suspect and he had engaged in a consensual fight over a disagreement about the cooking ability of the cook in the home.
The suspect then reportedly grabbed a cooking knife and was waving it around.
The complainant did not want to pursue charges and the investigation was ended.
Nov. 28 at 8:35 a.m., RCMP attended a residence on Dogwood to assist with a handgun.
The complainant stated her friend had recently passed away and she had the deceased person’s revolved in her home, which she was not comfortable with.
The RCMP then took the handgun for safe storage until they can determine what will be done with the estate of the deceased.
