Scams reported

Many people in the Valley have received letters directed to them from scam artists. Two letters seen are on a letterhead “Fernando Abogados”. I think there is something to be taken from the sound of “Abogados.”

The read goes like this: we have a fellow over here in Spain who died, leaving a lot of money behind, and they are trying hard to locate a relative. We can’t find a living relative, but since your name appears to be the same as our deceased we want to give you a chunk of the $8.6 million. If you don’t e-mail them or fax them back, they will search for another partner.

Again, like all the other scam letters out there, they want to assure you they checked out all the Modalities.

Bottom line, please throw out the letters.
