RCMP Report: Multi-vehicle crash in Little Fort

A northbound vehicle left Highway 5 and collided with four parked vehicles in the parking lot

Clearwater RCMP report that, during the past week, police responded to a collision in the parking lot of Jim’s Food Market in Little Fort.

A northbound vehicle left Highway 5 and collided with four parked vehicles in the parking lot. Two people received minor injuries.

The driver was issued a violation ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act for drive without due care. Alcohol was not a factor.

Single-vehicle rollover

RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover down a very steep bank near Vavenby.

The driver was transported to Kamloops hospital for further evaluation and the passenger received stitches and then was released.

The crash is still under investigation.

Wheel came off trailer

Central Interior Traffic Services (RCMP highway patrol) responded to a collision on Highway 5 just south of Clearwater.

A wheel came off a southbound travel-trailer, which in turn struck a northbound vehicle. There were no injuries.

Suspicious occurrence

RCMP and Natural Resources officer received an anonymous report of someone possibly preparing a bonfire on a property by Highway 5 between Little Fort and Blackpool.

Officers attended the property and found no signs of any type of fire being prepared.

Theft from vehicles

RCMP received two reports of thefts from vehicles. Cash, camera, Gopro and identification were taken.

Police would like to remind everyone to keep vehicles locked and to remove valuables from the vehicle or to put them out of sight.

During the week, police also investigated 26 traffic complaints, two disturbances, four abandoned 911 calls, one report of shots fired, and two lost/found property cases.

Slow down by the beach

The playground zone (30 km/hr) by Dutch Lake Park is in effect from a half-hour before sunrise to a half-hour after sunset.

With the nice weather, the park has been busy. The speed zone will be enforced and the minimum fine is $196.
