RCMP Report: Police on lookout for vandals

Clearwater RCMP have responded recently to numerous acts of vandalism and unnecessary damage to parks and beaches

Clearwater RCMP have responded recently to numerous acts of vandalism and unnecessary damage to parks and beaches maintained by District of Clearwater. Vandals have damaged the washrooms at the Rotary skateboard park, attempted to gain access to the concession at the fieldhouse and damaged the grass and garden beds on Young Road.

With each act of vandalism the District and its staff spend time and money to fix the damage, No doubt most of us can agree that their time and money could be better spent in other areas.

Clearwater RCMP encourage the users of the parks and beaches to provide information as to who is responsible for these senseless acts with a phone call to the detachment. Information can be provided anonymously.

Drive with consideration

With the summer upon us the amount of traffic on the highway has increased. Unfortunately there are some drivers who appear to be in a hurry to get to their destination at the expense of others.

If someone is driving unsafely and putting you and your passengers at risk, pull over and allow the vehicle to pass. Please call and report the unsafe driver. If possible record the license plate, direction of travel and a description of the vehicle.

Taxi cheaper than tow-truck

Summer time also means getting together with family and friends. If you are planning on having a few drinks, please plan ahead for a safe ride home. Clearwater RCMP will be on patrol for impaired drivers.

A taxi service is available in town to get you home. A few dollars spent on a cab ride makes more sense than losing your driver’s license and having your vehicle towed and impounded at your expense.
