RCMP seek suspects in Maple Ridge Staples robbery

Two suspects stole merchandise from Staples early Wednesday.

Two suspects sprayed an irritant into the Staples store in Maple Ridge early Wednesday, then stole merchandise.

Ridge Meadows RCMP said the irritant may have been “pepper-spray.”

The two suspects, Caucasian males, entered the store in the 20000-block of Lougheed Highway at approximately 8:40 a.m.

After stealing some merchandise, they ran out of the store “in an unknown direction.”

One suspect had “a distinctive blonde coloured ‘Mohawk’ hairstyle, which was the same length as the rest of his hair,” and had a thin build. He was wearing black glasses, a dark hoodie with white zipper, and dark track pants with stripe on the side, as well as dark shoes.

The second suspect had a medium build and was wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, and dark pants.

“Police are releasing a photo of the suspects that was captured on video surveillance. Investigators are asking for anyone who knows the identity of either, or both, of the suspects to call police or CrimeStoppers,” said Cpl. Brenda Winpenny.
