RCMP seeking suspect in Lake Country hit and run

Tailgating leads to serious injuries in Friday hit and run.

Kelowna RCMP are searching for a suspect following a hit and run Friday evening in Lake Country.

Shortly after 6pm, a Toyota Highlander was travelling south on Glenmore Road and was allegedly being tailgated by a white cube van.  The two drivers exchanged hand gestures, and at the intersection of Glenmore Road and John Hindle Drive, the 43 year-old driver of the Highlander left his vehicle and approached the van.  The van accelerated, striking the man and running him over with the rear duals of the van.  The Lake Country man was taken to hospital with some fractures.

RCMP are looking for information in locating the driver of the van, who is described as male, in his early 20’s and with dark hair.  Anyone with information or who may have seen the incident is asked to contact Constable Ron Miciuk at 250-980-5353 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if they wish to remain anonymous.

Corporal Joe Duncan added it isn’t recommended to confront someone you don’t know, as you don’t know who you’re dealing with or how they’ll react.
