West Shore RCMP is asking for tips to help find a former Cowichan Capitals player who has been missing since Sept. 27.
Geoffrey Irwin, 35, was last seen at the Royal Bank in Langford, 2945 Jacklin Rd. He’s known to travel between the West Shore and the Lower Mainland.
Irwin, who lives in Colwood, started his junior hockey career with the Caps in 2001-02 and played 75 games with the team over three seasons before he went on to play for the Victoria Salsa, Prince George Spruce Kings and Burnaby Express. That was followed by a collegiate and pro career in the U.S. and Australia that lasted until 2016.
Police say an ongoing investigation into Irwin’s disappearance indicates he travelled from the West Shore to the Park Royal Mall sometime between Sept. 27 and Sept. 29.
RCMP have followed up on several leads but the Colwood man is still missing and police are concerned for his well being.
