RDN hosts green building workshops

They're ready to help make the right moves

A series of free green building workshops and open houses are being held this month by the Regional District of Nanaimo to encourage residents to “go green” with their construction and home renovation projects.

“Presenters at the RDN’s green building workshops will explain the environmental impacts that development can have on a property and surrounding landscape, and offer information about alternative systems that can help reduce a project’s ecological footprint,” said RDN Chairperson Joe Stanhope in a press release.

The open houses will focus on similar topics.

All workshops are schedules from 1 to 5 p.m. on June 11, 18 and 25. Pre-registration is required and free child-minding is available. Call 1-888-828-2069 to register.

Open houses are offered from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 12 (Anderson residence or Millstone River House) or Sunday, June 26 (Hillside House).
