Half a century of family fun is being celebrated at the Vernon Recreation Complex.
The City of Vernon and Greater Vernon Recreation Services are inviting the community to join in celebrating 50 years of community fun and recreation at the rec complex May 19.
Ceremonies including cake cutting will take place from 2-3 p.m. followed by activities for the whole family, including bouncy castles and mini-golf on the front lawn and in the auditorium, and games in the Dogwood Gym. Vernon Aquatic Centre is also offering free public swim times from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9:30 p.m., which will include a Wibit inflatable ProTrack. A scrapbook of recreation photos collected over the years will be available for viewing in the lobby.
The celebration and fun will continue through the long weekend with the Wibit inflatable at all public swims. For more swim times, check the swim schedule at www.gvrec.ca.
