Exchange students: while Juniper Wadlegger from Clearwater is studying and learning about life in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Réka Cséfa from Slovakia is enjoying being a Grade 12 student at Clearwater Secondary (CSS).
Réka will be hosted at three different homes during the current school year—if anyone is interested in knowing more about the program or in hosting a student, please contact Hazel at 250-674-1674 or Sherry Heier at 250-674-3355.
Super raffle: time is running out to buy $20 raffle tickets as the draw is on Oct. 13, tickets are selling fast and only 1500 are being sold.
If you haven’t bought your chance to win the Can-Am ATV (quad), deluxe barbecue, or $200 worth of jewelry, do it now. Look for sellers at Buy-Low, Jim’s Market, contact any Rotary member, or purchase one at Home Hardware.
Proceeds go to Wells Gray Search and Rescue, Upper Clearwater Initial Attack Suppression Society, as well as supporting Rotary’s many on-going projects.
Celebrating Clearwater Rotary’s 25th anniversary: the draw for the raffle takes place at this dinner gala event to be held at the Dutch Lake Community Centre on Oct. 13. Price of $50 covers the buffet-style dinner catered by the Gateway Grill and entertainment.
Live music will follow the dinner. Beer and wine will be for sale while a silent auction will feature gift certificates donated by local businesses and other items.
Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner begins at 6 p.m. and bus transportation will be arranged. Tickets are for sale at the Wells Gray Inn and from Rotary Members. Tickets can be purchased before Oct. 3. For more information, please contact Ursula Schaer at 674-3115.
