Regional district issues an evacuation notice

Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has issued an evacuation notice for residents in the RBDN's Electoral 'E' (Ootsa/Francois Lake Rural).

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako (RDBN) has issued an evacuation notice for residents in the RBDN’s Electoral ‘E’ (Ootsa/Francois Lake Rural).

Residents located in the Northeast half of Tetachuck Lake, through Uchu Reach to Intata Reach on Natalkuz Lake to the South side of the Chelaslie River have been ordered to evacuate.

The evacuation has been ordered due to the danger of life safety due to the wildfire in the area.

Those order to evacuate must leave the area immediately and are recommended to close all windows are doors, shut off all gas and electrical appliances except for refrigerators and freezers and take only critical items, such as medicine, purses and wallets with them.

It is also recommended that pets be brought in kennels or on leashes.

Evacuees need to contact the RDBN at 250-692-3195 or at 250-692-9411 to be registered once they have evacuated the area.
