Recreation enthusiasts in the Regional District of Nanaimo area can begin signing up for fall programs at the end of the month.

Registration for fall community recreation programs opens Aug. 31 at 8 a.m., according to a press release. There are numerous programs for all ages and interests, with pickleball, swimming and fitness classes among the offerings and the RDN will add additional programs to the lineup in the coming months.

Oceanside Place in Parksville is again accepting ice and dry floor bookings, but only people who pre-register will be allowed and no drop-ins accepted.

Registration for swimming programs for Ravensong Aquatic Centre, in Qualicum Beach, also begins Aug. 31, with the facility aiming to restart in late September.

All programs will adhere to B.C. Ministry of Health COVID-19 regulations, but the RDN will maintain its priority to “offer active, fun and safe programs for the community,” the press release said.
