Register now for fall art classes at the Kelowna Art Gallery

Classes range from painting in acrylics to drawing, cartooning and working with mixed media.

Registration for the Kelowna Art Gallery’s fall art class offerings for adults is now underway. Don’t miss your chance to take part in these high-quality, intimate classes that run from September through November. Those registering before September 4, 2015 will receive a 10% discount on fees.

Classes range from painting in acrylics, to drawing, cartooning, or even working with mixed media. Local professional artists Jim Elwood, Rena Warren, Carney Oudendag, April Snowe, Meghan Wise, and Marzio Manderioli join us to lead the classes.

“Helping people to access and channel their creativity, as well as showing them how rewarding participating in the visual arts can be is our focus,” says Brenda Feist, Education Coordinator at the Kelowna Art Gallery.

Most classes run for six weeks, and cater to absolute beginners, as well as to those of intermediate skill level. Beginners will learn the basic principles of their preferred medium, while also discussing, exploring, and expressing themselves through visual art. More advanced students will build on their existing skills through creative exercises to develop their abilities. Participants in all classes will complete and take home a number of works of art. Instruction by the Gallery’s art teachers is supportive, motivating, and inspiring.

The cost for each six-week-long series of classes is $130.00 for members of the Kelowna Art Gallery, and $160.00 for the general public.

A full listing and description of available classes can be found on the Gallery’s website at www.kelownaartgallery.com.
