Local First Nations elders led a ceremony on Feb. 8 to mark the beginning of a four-day fast at the site of the death of Janice Shore in the winter of 2012/13 in Whalley.

More than 30 people participated in the ceremony.

Tom Oleman, 68, Wally LaVigne, 64, and Bernie Parkinson, 73, will stay on the site in a teepee (in the background) until Feb. 12.
