Nanaimo RCMP are on the case of what could be considered the region’s biggest ever garden ornament heist.

Thieves have made off with a 136-kilogram replica Chinese terracotta warrior statue from the yard of the home in Lantzville, north of Nanaimo.

According to police, the statue was taken sometime overnight Tuesday from the home located in the 7000 block of McGill Road.

The concrete statue is just over one metre tall, is stained to look dark bronze and at the time of the theft a wooden sign was hanging off the neck of the statue which read, ‘Spoiled Rotten Cats Live Here.’
