The Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce has hired a new executive director to replace Judy Goodman.

Jamie Mayes will be taking over from Goodman as the leader of the chamber at the end of May, Goodman told the Review.

Mayes has been working as a business retention & expansion specialist with Venture Kamloops, the economic development arm of the City of Kamloops.

According to her staff bio on the Venture Kamloops website, her responsibilities included encouraging entrepreneurs and start-ups, and enhancing business activity in the city.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she spent almost five years as an event coordinator for the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce before joining Venture Kamloops in 2013. She has a bachelors degree in tourism management at Thompson Rivers University.

Revelstokians might recognize Mayes from the Farm & Craft Market, where shesells handmade, recycled wood jewellery under the name Tiny Timber Designs.

Goodman is retiring after four years leading the Chamber of Commerce.
