A Vernon golf course has new owners.

The golf course lands only at The Rise were sold during a court ordered sale for $1.75 million Oct. 7.

“They (new owners) are from Alberta and they know the property intimately,” said J.D. Murray, with NAI Commercial, which was the listing broker.

“I am not sure what their plans are for the property. The highest and best use is as a golf course.”

The property was sold on behalf of the Business Development Bank of Canada and the new owners apparently did not have a realtor involved in the process.

The original asking price was $2.2 million for the Fred Couples-designed, 18-hole course on 144 acres.

The clubhouse and the residential development were not included in the court ordered sale.

The purchase agreement closes in mid-November.
