Revelstoke Mountain Resort chief operating officer Rod Kessler appeared at Revelstoke city council’s Oct. 25 regular meeting where he signalled the resort’s intent to work on water issues with stakeholders. “The resort is prepared to sit down with the appropriate stakeholders and work towards and develop a long-term solution,” he said. “We do regret the water interruption to the users down below us due to turbidity in the water supply.”
Residents complained about contamination of their water supply, leading to a request from CSRD area director Loni Parker to explore their inclusion into the city water system.
Kessler’s presentation lasted under two minutes and there were no questions from council.
He also apologized for missing a previous council meetings where the issue was discussed, saying he had unavoidable scheduling conflicts. “My absence was no [message] of my disinterest, whatsoever,” Kessler said.
