IT’S officially the start of summer and that can only mean one thing – road repair season has begun.
The City of Nanaimo’s annual road rehabilitation program has kicked off and will last until October. The city will be repaving and repairing numerous roads throughout the city and is advising motorists to plan ahead and expect traffic delays.
Road paving and repairs are scheduled to be done on Oceanview Terrace between Norasea Road to Bayshore Drive; Victoria Road between Rainer Street to Needham Street; Park Avenue between Fifth Street and Sixth Street; Nanaimo Lakes Road between Lincoln Road to Wakesiah Avenue and from Lincoln Road to Harewood Mines Road.
Paving will also be done on all of Howden Drive while repair work is slated for Terminal Avenue between Stewart Avenue and St. George Street.
The city is also reminding drivers that repair schedules can change due to weather conditions as well as to watch for watch for construction signs and road crews.
