Road rules clear for cyclists

Police remind cyclists to stay safe

Police are reminding cyclists to protect their craniums during the summer.

“All cyclists … are required to wear a bicycle helmet at all times and must also follow all the rules of the road, as if they were a motor vehicle,” Const. Eric Thompson said.

Cyclists must stop at stop signs and at yellow and red lights, and can’t ride on crosswalks or sidewalks.

Bikes must have lights from half an hour after sunset to half an hour before sunrise.
