The Scotch Creek Forest Service Road will be temporarily closed at the nine-kilometre mark from Monday, July 18 to Friday, July 22.

The closure, announced by the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources, is to allow for road upgrades.

The Pukeashun Trail, north of the closure, will still be accessible from the east on Seymour Main-Celista Creek Forest Service Road and from the west on Adams East Forest Service Road.

The Scotch Creek Forest Service Road is located on the north side of Shuswap Lake near the village of Scotch Creek. This road is part of B.C.’s 55,000-kilometre Forest Service road network that provides access to British Columbia’s backcountry.

Repaving

A 29-kilometre section of Squilax-Anglemont Road, from Shuswap Lake Provincial Park to St. Ives will undergo repaving beginning in September.

Okanagan Aggregates Ltd. has been awarded the $2.7 million contract for the work by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.

“This project builds on a recently completed repaving project that saw 18 kilometres of Squilax-Anglemont Road resurfaced, from the north end of Squilax  Bridge to the entrance to Scotch Creek Provincial Park,” said MOTI Minister Todd Stone. “These improvements will provide a much-needed makeover for those travelling to and through the North Shuswap area.”
