Robber hits Kelowna frozen yogurt shop

Police are searching for a suspect after being called to an armed robbery Monday evening.

Police are searching for a suspect after being called to an armed robbery Monday evening.

The Kelowna RCMP responded  Dec. 28 at 8:35 pm,to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at a frozen yogurt establishment located in the 2400 block of Highway 97 North.

“A lone masked male entered the store, brandished what appeared to be the handle of a handgun, and told the employee that it was a robbery and that she needed to give him all the money,” said Const. Jesse O’Donaghey.

“The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. An area of containment was quickly set up and a Police Service Dog was brought in to conduct a search. The Police Service Dog established a strong track which ended abruptly leading police to believe that the suspect fled in a vehicle which had been left nearby.”

The female employee was not harmed during the incident.

The suspect is described as:

Caucasian male;

6 ft 4 in tall;

Slim build;

Wearing a white hoodie with black and grey designs on the front, a black mask, black gloves, and dark acid wash jeans;
