Robbery at Danbrook Park

Robbery at Danbrook Park

Four men assault and rob two others late yesterday afternoon

Yesterday afternoon at approximately 4 p.m., according to West Shore RCMP, two young men were reportedly physically assaulted and robbed by a group of four men at Danbrook Park in Langford.

One of the young men was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, but has since been released.

West Shore RCMP officers caught up with the four men as they were leaving the park, and currently have them in custody, and say that “the robbery was over drugs.”

Witnesses at the scene helped police identify the suspects and are cooperating with the investigation.

The four suspects, of which two are “well known to police,” will be appearing in Provincial Court in the afternoon of Feb. 19. They range in age from 17 to 22 years old, and police will only say at this time that one is from Langford and the other three are from Sooke.

West Shore RCMP Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation assisted by general duty members. Numerous witness statements have been taken with more still to be conducted.
