Rock slide shuts down Trans-Canada

The Trans-Canada Highway was closed on Friday, May 11, when a minor rock slide occurred in the eastbound lane of the highway.

A rockslide on May 11 temporarily closed the Trans-Canada Highway, with traffic diverted through the Village of Chase.

The Trans-Canada Highway was closed on Friday, May 11, when a minor rock slide occurred in the eastbound lane of  the highway at the intersection with Shuswap Avenue in Chase.

Chase RCMP were quickly on scene, determined there were no vehicles or persons involved, and re-routed highway traffic through the village.

The Ministry of Highways and Argo Road Maintenance removed the rock and the highway reopened within a few hours.
