A single vehicle crash on the freeway tied up traffic for several hours on Sunday evening.

At around 6:30 p.m., Langley crews responded to a rollover MVA westbound on Highway 1, west of 232 Street.

Crews arrived to find a flat bed truck on its side in the ditch.

Skid marks indicated the truck veered across the road before rolling into the ditch.

Bystanders reportedly pulled the driver, who was said to have been in and out of consciousness, from the vehicle.

Firefighters stood by for an extended period of time while BC Ambulance Service crews fought their way through the traffic jam to get to the scene.

The driver was transported to hospital in unknown condition. Metro Vancouverites returning from a sunny weekend outside the Lower Mainland were snarled in traffic that backed up as far as 264 Street.
