A fight that police report started over tires being moved resulted in one man facing assault charges.

RCMP were called to the 1700 block of Salmon River Road near Falkland just after 6:30 p.m. Sunday to a report of a fight between three roommates. Two roommates, aged 49 and 63, are men, the other is a 53-year-old woman.

“One of the roommates started a fight after his tires in the garage were moved, that’s what the whole fight was about,” said RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk. “Alcohol was “definitely” a contributing factor in this incident.”

According to police, the 49-year-old man took off after fighting with his roommates, allegedly hitting them with his fists and a broom, and fled into some nearby bushes.

A police service dog unit was called in and the man was found. He was arrested without incident and taken into custody.
