The Revelstoke Peforming Arts Centre, shown here at its opening event, will be closed in April due to a flood.

The Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre will be closed in April to repair damage caused by a flood.

“The damage is pretty extensive,” said Miriam Manley, the executive director of the Revelstoke Arts Council.

Damage was done to the stage, dressing rooms, women’s washroom, drapes and carpets, said Manley.

As a result, all events scheduled for April have been moved to the United Church, except the screening of C.R.A.Z.Y. on April 29, which was cancelled.

The Shay Kuebler dance residency this week will proceed at the theatre as planned.

“We were patching things together so we could go ahead with our events for (March),” said Manley.
