Saanich detectives seek witnesses to possible assault

Saanich Police seek witnesses to incident that took place in the 700 block of Vernon Avenue near the Save-On-Foods Plaza.

Saanich Police detectives are seeking possible witnesses to an incident that took place in the 700 block of Vernon Avenue near the Save-On-Foods Plaza.

Questions linger about the incident, a possible assault involving two individuals, which is believed to have taken place between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13.

The incident resulted in one person having non-life threatening injuries that were treated at the hospital.

“While we are not able to provide further details about the incident itself, we believe that there were people in the immediate area that may have observed what took place between the two individuals” Sgt. Steve Eassie said. “There may also be others that may have witnessed these events as they were driving past in vehicles.”

Police have been able to determine that there were likely at least two people that were in the immediate area at the time of the alleged incident that may have observed what took place. Detectives are interested in speaking with anyone who may have information that could help to establish the sequence of events.

The investigation is ongoing.
