Saanich hosting Galloping Goose-Carey connection session Sunday

Saanich hosting public presentation Sunday for Galloping Goose/Carey Road connector at the fork of Goose and Lochside from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saanich is hosting a a public presentation on Sunday for the Galloping Goose and Carey Road connector at the fork of the Galloping Goose and Lochside Trails.

The presentation runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Goose and Carey Road Connection Project is in Saanich’s 2016 Transportation Capital Budget. It is a four-metre wide asphalt multi-use pathway with mild grades, a 2.5-metre wide wheelchair accessible ramp, a new concrete bus stop pad and an on-road southbound bike lane.

Upgrades to the existing multi-use pathway connecting Carey Road and the Goose were raised as part of the development process for the Uptown Shopping Centre. The pathway will improve walking and cycling conditions in the area by providing safe accessibility for all pathway users between Uptown, Carey Road and the Galloping Goose.

Saanich has been working with CRD Parks and Uptown (which is a funding partner for the project) to upgrade the multi-use pathways.
