DEMO TIME AND SAFE MYSTERY: Parksville Heavy Equipment operator Ernie Nagy took down the Vancouver Island Insurance Centre building at Hirst Avenue and the Alberni Highway Thursday evening to make way for an updated, similar-sized building that the company says better reflects the city’s downtown design scheme. The insurance office is open next door on Hirst throughout the process.
