The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died after a two-vehicle collision at the junction of the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 97B on May 5.
The victim was Gloria Gail Boda, aged 65, of Salmon Arm.
Boda was the front-seat passenger in a Ford Fusion and had been experiencing chest pains just prior to the collision.
The Salmon Arm RCMP report the Ford was westbound on the Trans-Canada Highway with the driver intending on turning left onto Highway 97B, when he turned into the path of an eastbound Toyota Camry at approximately 2 p.m. Monday.
Both drivers sustained only minor injuries and all passengers were wearing seat belts.
Boda was immediately transported to Shuswap Lake General Hospital where efforts to resuscitate her were not successful.
Members of the RCMP’s Trans-Canada East Traffic Services were called in to review the collision and the investigation is ongoing, in conjunction with the BC Coroner’s Service.
