Salmon Arm Home Building Centre awarded

The Salmon Arm Home Building Centre has been awarded the 2016 Outstanding Retailer Award for a store under 15,000 square feet.

The owner and management of the Salmon Arm Home Building Centre have been awarded the 2016 Outstanding Retailer Award (ORA) for a store under 15,000 square feet at the annual Hardlines Conference in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

John Kehler the store’s owner and store manager David Kroeker attended the conference to accept the award.

“I am truly honoured to accept this award on behalf of my incredibly dedicated Staff who have worked so hard on our redevelopment plans.  We encountered several challenges along the way but we are so proud of what we have accomplished.  This recognition from our peers is validation that we are on the right track, ” Kehler said.

The Home Building Centre Salmon Arm location has undergone numerous changes since Kehler bought it in 2009. The store was a building supply store, but under another banner when Kehler purchased it. Since the business changed hands a brand new front entrance, open-concept layout and a wider product selection have been added.Other additions include outdoor warehouses and a dedicated area for contractors.

Kehler and Kroeker say they have plans to grow the business further, eventually expanding the store to double its original size of 10,000 square feet.

The ORAs honour the achievements of Canada’s hardware, home improvement and building supply dealers.
