SaveOn-Foods – Safeway transition begins

Save-On-Foods in Port Alberni is slated to open on Saturday.

Safeway closed its doors for the final time in Port Alberni on Tuesday at 6 p.m., and the transition to Save-On-Foods began in earnest Wednesday morning.

The parking lot was full of cars as employees were inside changing over price tags and other items, while green and white signage for Save-On-Foods was erected.

The new store will hold a soft opening at noon on Friday, April 25 and  officially open as a Save-On-Foods on Saturday, April 26, store manager Naomi McLeod said.
