The Abbotsford school district has announced how it will spend $150,000 previously announced from surplus funds to go to English as a Second Language (ESL) programming.

The money will be spent on: increasing support staff at the secondary levels for students who are new to this country, providing more in-service at the elementary level for classroom teachers, and training more teachers at the middle school level to help improve the language skills of ESL students. Dr. Virginia Rojas, a world renowned ESL expert, will train administrators and teachers in the district.
