School to start Monday, September 19

Teachers back in class Friday to gear up for half day school start Monday

Similkameen Elementary Secondary and Cawston Primary school teachers will be back in their classrooms Friday, September 19 after a provincial wide ratification vote to accept a settlement in the provincial teacher’s labour dispute on Thursday.

SESS Principal Cate Turner said teachers would be in class Friday to prepare for school start up Monday morning, September 22. She said Monday’s return to school would probably only be for a half day for students.

Cawston School Principal Linda Thiel announced September 19 Cawston Primary  will be in session 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Monday.  All four buses will leave at 11:15.

Tuesday, September 23 will be a regular full school day.

Parents of Kindergarten students were to be emailed or called over the weekend  to be given interview times, small group session days and other information.
