Members of Arrowsmith Search and Rescue were scrambled Thursday night to find an elderly woman who had wandered off in the Coombs area.
Spokesperson Ken Neden said police called in the searchers just before 7 p.m. after the 87-year-old Parksville woman was reported missing.
The call to action was answered by 31 searchers, who fanned out on foot and in vehicles to search for the woman.
She was eventually spotted at about 9 p.m. by a resident at a trailer park in Errington. She was reportedly confused but otherwise fine.
