Ridge Meadows RCMP continue to search for a Maple Ridge woman who has not been seen or heard from three weeks.
Anita Young was last seen Oct. 5.
Police ramped up search efforts Friday Oct. 25 which was Young’s birthday.
“Today is Anita’s 44th birthday,” said Sgt. Dale Somerville.”Police continue to receive and investigate reports of Anita being seen in different areas, but so far these leads have not panned out. Ridge Meadows RCMP are pulling out all the stops on this case.”
Police found a bag of Young’s belongings on McNutt Road, just north of Dewdney Trunk Road on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 6.
“We are asking for anyone who may have seen Anita near this area to call us. In particular, anyone who spoke, or gave a ride to her,” Somerville added.
Auxiliary constables went door to door in Young’s neighbourhood and spoke with the people who live in the area.
Ridge Meadows traffic services set up an information road check Friday and handing out pamphlets to commuters.
Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue will be doing a second grid search of an area in and around Young’s home.
Somerville said police have already used the RCMP’s Integrated Lower Mainland District’s Police Dogs Services along with an aerial search, using a thermal imaging camera.
“So far all efforts to locate Anita have been met with negative results,” he added.
Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP at 604-463-6251.
