BREACHING A condition of his sentence sent a man to jail for the rest of his sentence.
Kurtis Brendan Venn was convicted of possession for the purpose of trafficking and handed a conditional sentence of three months to be served in the community followed by 12 months of probation from Judge Calvin Struyk May 9 of this year.
He was caught breaking his conditions and held for court at which time it was decided he will spend the rest of his sentence in jail.
When it’s over and probation kicks in, he will be able to return home.
On June 4, 2011, Venn and another man were arrested after Terrace RCMP executed a search warrant on a house located in the 4600 block of Haugland Ave., said police at that time.
They seized “a substantial” amount of marijuana, cash and various drug trafficking items, said police.
With close to 70 days of his conditional sentence passed, he will only spend about 20 more days in jail, until July 29 and then begin his one year of probation.
