A former Woodlands Secondary School principal, who resigned after a theft charge, still does not know what sentence he will face.
David Street, 55, pleaded guilty to a charge of $5,000 or under in December and was in court Thursday for a sentencing hearing. The hearing was adjourned to a date that has not yet been determined.
During the hearing, Chris Churchill, Street’s legal counsel, said a conditional discharge would be appropriate for his client. It would mean no criminal record if Street meets conditions of probation.
James Kulla, Crown counsel, is seeking a conditional sentence order. A conditional sentence is a jail term served conditionally in the community.
Street resigned from the Nanaimo school district in late-May.
